Judge A S Pachhapure adjourned the hearing after the counsel for the accused filed an application requesting the court to exempt Jayalalithaa, Sashikala Natarajan, Elavarsi and T T V Dinakaran from personnel appearance.
Judge A S Pachhapure also issued notices to Sashikala Natarajan, V N Sudhakaran and J Ilavarasi in the Rs 66.65 crore asset case.
'As she has been sentenced to 4 years in prison, her disqualification period begins after that for 6 years, totaling the next 10 years of her life, which may indicate that her legislative career in politics is over for the time being.'
